Update!

Lil Wild Bill has doubled in size and is still doing great! I also am thinning out my Frogbit and roots because they are growing so much.

Lil’ Wild Bill’s first molt!

I’m so proud 🥹🥹🥹 lil wild bill had his first molt, in a hospital tank while the 10 gallon is being tested for planaria none the less! He will be out back in there tomorrow

Planaria!!!

No! I just noticed little worms crawling around on my tank walls… turns out there planaria, who will eat lil’ wild bill! I set a trap and will get some chemical treatments hopefully I won’t have to worry for long!

Trim & reshape

Thinned out Frogbit

The Frogbit was kinda taking over my tank, so took out a few handfuls and trimmed all the roots. This was very painful. It’s hard to get rid of perfectly good plants, but on the bright side, my chickens enjoyed eating them!

Frogbit thriving!

Key moment

My Amazon Frogbit is doing fantastic! There is so much, and I’m not getting many orders on EBay, so I’m going to have to throw some out (better too much than too little). That’s ok by me! I’m just happy knowing my plants are happy 😆

Shocker!

After all my shrimp die, I find a tiny baby shrimp chilling in my tank! Why didn’t anyone tell me that fish keeping is an emotional rollercoaster? Well, I was very surprised to see this little guy. I don’t know if he’ll survive, but here’s hoping!

All but one of my shrimp has died in the last 2 weeks. :( And yet we still keep aquarium-ing. Hope it thrives.

Guppy Grass Gone

Turned on the light after letting my shrimp adjust and my guppy grass had LITERALLY DISAPPEARED. I did some research and it turns out that I put it into the tank too quickly and it melted. Oof. On the plus side, I still have some in a jar that I kept…

Shrimp here!

My shrimp came in the mail today! The FedEx driver left them on my front porch in the sun 😖 and I’m left with 18 and one that looks dead. It’s ok! I’m taking acclimation really slow so hopefully they’ll all start thriving with the fresh water.

I ordered from EBay… you can get some for a decent deal. I was also unsure of buying online, but you save a lot of money and shrimp/fish are pretty tough and do fine with shipping if you acclimate them right and get them from a good seller.

Shrimp Here!!

Finally! The shrimp came in the mail yesterday, with no dead shrimp. After a few hours of acclimation, the were moved to the tank. None died and I now have 22 healthy fire red shrimp. So excited!!!

I added Amazon Frogbit to my tank and had to work for quite some time to keep it from floating off with airline tubing. The roots should start growing in the nest few days.
