Cory Death

Removal
I witnessed a couple females nipping at Scooter’s fins, so I removed 2 females and a male Endler. I’m going to watch closely to see if the problem persists.

New residents!
6 Hastatus (Pygmy) Corydoras were added last night, and 9 Endler’s Livebearers (3 male, 6 female) were added today. I will be monitoring closely. I also added my thriving pothos in order to help manage the nitrate load.

Big changes!
Today the nitrites were at 0 again, so I decided to move Scooter and my Endler’s from my 5.5-gallon into this tank. I also added some hardscape and lots more plants. I’m excited to see how everything goes.

Moved Cor Over
Since my nitrites hit 0 for the first time and adequate biofilm and microfauna have been seen in the tank, I decided to move my Red Racer Nirite, Cor, from my 5.5-gallon (Scooter & Friends) to this 20-gallon.

Microfauna!
I tested the nitrite yoday and it read Zero! So i was inspecting the tank and holy microfauna! A ton of copepods, some hydra, and super hair-thin worms that are crawlibg on the glass.

Cycle stall??
I can't tell if my pH has stalled the cycle or if I'm just being impatient. I've kept up on ghost feeding every 2-3 days, plus my tea bag of brine shrimp is still in the tank. My pH read the lowest that it can go- 6, which means it could very well be…

Water clearing
The water is really clearing up now, but the pH took a crazy plummet. The only thing I changed was adding two Catappa leaves on Sunday, but I didn't think they would make that much of a difference considering they barely make a dent in my 5-gallon.

The cloudiness is staring to clear, still not quite crystal though. I added some stability and ghost fed some pellets again today to keep the cycle from stalling.
