A walk through the forest

A forest took root in glass—driftwood became the skeleton, and around it bloomed Amazon Swords, Hygrophila, Anubias, and Cryptocoryne Flamingo, their leaves catching the light like a canopy. Bobby the Halfmoon Betta settled into this world alongside Pygmy Corydoras sifting the substrate, Exclamation Point Rasboras darting through the stems, Celestial Pearl Danios hovering like jewels, and Red Cherry and Blue Dream Shrimp grazing the plants—a quiet community thriving in 65.9 liters of living water. I love how they all move together, each species finding its place in this underwater forest.

One chili rasbora swims alone through the forest, the last of his school after his companions faded long ago—but now he shares the tank with nine exclamation point rasboras, three celestial pearl danios, a gentle halfmoon betta named Bobby, and a busy crew of pygmy corydoras and shrimp working the substrate below. The vision is taking shape: eventually these rasboras will flow through the plants like a living current, two schools moving as one through the Amazon sword and Monte Carlo.

A piece of driftwood toppled today, stirring up clouds of sediment and forcing an emergency redesign — I anchored it with a large rock and fresh gravel, though the forest floor looks rough while it settles. The water's still cloudy from the upheaval, but I expect clarity by tomorrow as the particles drift down. The Pygmy Corydoras are sifting through the chaos, the Exclamation Point Rasboras dart cautiously through the haze, and the Halfmoon Betta seems unbothered, though I'm keeping a close eye on everyone as things calm.
