Care Guide
Diet
Bluefin Killifish are omnivorous and thrive on a varied diet of small live foods such as daphnia, brine shrimp, and mosquito larvae, supplemented with quality micro pellets and flake food. Feed small amounts 1-2 times daily, only what they can consume in a few minutes. They prefer live foods but will adapt to frozen alternatives.
Behavior
These active little fish are constantly exploring their environment, displaying curious and engaging behavior throughout the day. They are peaceful community fish that do well in groups or as solitary specimens, spending time in all water zones. Males may display mild territorial behavior but rarely cause harm to other fish.
Breeding
Bluefin Killifish are relatively easy to breed in captivity with proper conditioning and setup. Provide fine-leaved plants or spawning mops, and feed high-quality live foods to condition breeding pairs. Eggs hatch in 10-14 days at appropriate temperatures, and fry are very small, requiring infusoria or liquid fry food initially.
