Care Guide
Diet
Tailspot Corydoras are omnivorous bottom feeders that consume sinking pellets, algae wafers, and small live foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. Feed once daily in amounts they can consume within 2-3 minutes. They will also scavenge leftover food from other fish.
Behavior
These catfish are nocturnal and spend most of their time on the substrate searching for food. They are social fish that should be kept in groups of at least 6 individuals, where they display natural schooling behavior. They are peaceful with all community fish and rarely venture into the upper water column.
Breeding
Breeding Tailspot Corydoras in captivity is moderately difficult and requires specific conditioning. Males and females should be fed high-quality foods to trigger spawning, which typically occurs after a water change with slightly cooler water. Eggs are laid on surfaces and hatch within 3-5 days.

Frayed or deteriorating fins, discoloration at fin edges, lethargy
Improve water quality with frequent water changes, remove sharp decorations, treat with antibacterial medication, ensure adequate filtration

Deterioration or loss of barbels around mouth, difficulty feeding
Improve substrate quality (use sand instead of sharp gravel), enhance water quality, provide varied diet with sinking foods, treat with antibacterial if infected
Columnaris
Whitish film on body, mouth rot, lethargy, loss of appetite
Increase water changes to 50% daily, raise temperature slightly, treat with antibacterial medication, ensure excellent water quality and low stress
