Floating plant with small, round lily-pad leaves and long trailing roots. Similar to Amazon Frogbit but stays smaller. Cold-tolerant.

Nutrient Deficiency

Yellowing leaves, stunted growth, pale coloration, leaf holes

Treatment

Dose with comprehensive liquid fertilizer containing macronutrients and micronutrients; ensure adequate lighting and CO2 availability

Algae Overgrowth

Symptoms

Green or brown algae coating leaves and roots, reduced light penetration

Treatment

Increase water changes, reduce lighting duration to 8-10 hours daily, manually remove algae, introduce algae-eating fish like Otocinclus

Root Rot

Symptoms

Blackened or mushy roots, plant detachment from main body, decay spreading

Treatment

Improve water circulation, perform frequent water changes, remove severely affected portions, ensure adequate nutrient levels

Melting

Symptoms

Rapid leaf deterioration, transparent or dissolving foliage, plant collapse

Treatment

Acclimate plant gradually to new conditions, maintain stable water parameters, ensure adequate nutrients and lighting, trim damaged portions
