Common Diseases

Nutrient Deficiency

Symptoms

Yellowing leaves, stunted growth, pale coloration, loss of red pigmentation

Treatment

Increase fertilizer dosing with all-in-one liquid fertilizers and macronutrient supplements; add root tabs; ensure adequate lighting and CO2

Algae Overgrowth

Symptoms

Green or brown algae coating leaves, reduced light penetration, plant appears smothered

Treatment

Reduce lighting duration to 8-10 hours daily, increase water changes, add algae-eating shrimp or fish, improve water circulation

Melting

Symptoms

Leaves become translucent, mushy stems, rapid tissue breakdown after planting

Treatment

Ensure gradual acclimation to new tank conditions; maintain stable water parameters (pH 6.0-7.5, temperature 23-28°C); improve water circulation and reduce excess organic waste

Slow Growth

Symptoms

Minimal new leaf development, weak stems, plant appears stalled

Treatment

Increase CO2 supplementation, boost lighting to medium-high levels (8-10 hours daily), add comprehensive fertilizers with macro and micronutrients
