Care Guide

Diet

Torpedo Dwarf Cichlids are carnivorous and require small live or frozen foods such as micro worms, daphnia, and small bloodworms. Feed small portions 2-3 times daily, as they have small mouths and prefer frequent small meals. High-quality micro pellets can supplement their diet but should not be the primary food source.

Behavior

This species is a bottom-dweller that spends most of its time foraging along the substrate and among plants. They are shy and peaceful, rarely displaying aggression toward tank mates. Torpedo Dwarf Cichlids are most active during low-light periods and appreciate dimly lit tanks with plenty of hiding spots.

Breeding

Breeding is moderately difficult and requires pristine water conditions and a dedicated breeding setup. Pairs are monogamous and will spawn in caves or dense vegetation; they exhibit parental care for their fry. Fry are extremely small and require infusoria or liquid fry food for the first few weeks.
