Common Diseases
Cryptocoryne Rot
Melting or blackening of leaves, mushy stems, foul odor from substrate
Improve water circulation, reduce organic buildup, perform partial water changes, remove affected leaves, ensure adequate substrate nutrients
Nutrient Deficiency
Yellowing leaves, stunted growth, pale new growth, leaf holes
Add comprehensive liquid fertilizer or root tabs, ensure adequate lighting, test water parameters for macronutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium)
Algae Overgrowth
Green or brown algae coating leaves, reduced light penetration
Reduce lighting duration to 6-8 hours daily, increase water changes, add algae-eating fish or shrimp, manually remove algae buildup
