Echinodorus sp. 'Rose'
Plantae›Tracheophyta›Magnoliopsida›Alismatales›Alismataceae
📍 Captive-bred (hybrid)

Tank Mates
Peaceful algae eaters that won't damage plant leaves and help maintain tank cleanliness
Small, non-destructive shrimp that graze algae without harming the sword plant
Peaceful schooling fish that add color without disturbing plants or substrate
Excellent companion plant with similar care requirements and non-invasive growth
Compatible foreground/background plant that thrives in same conditions without competing for space
Common Diseases
Nutrient Deficiency
Yellowing leaves, stunted growth, pale new growth instead of pink coloration
Increase fertilizer dosing with all-in-one liquid fertilizer or add root tabs; ensure adequate lighting for photosynthesis
Algae Overgrowth on Leaves
Green or brown algae coating leaf surfaces, reduced light penetration
Increase water changes, reduce lighting duration, add algae-eating fish like Otocinclus, manually remove affected leaves
Root Rot
Mushy roots, decaying base, leaves wilting despite adequate water
Improve substrate drainage, reduce organic waste buildup, ensure adequate water circulation; replant in fresh substrate if severe
Melting
Rapid leaf deterioration, transparent or dissolving leaves after planting
Maintain stable water parameters, gradually acclimate plant to new conditions, ensure consistent temperature and lighting
