Nutrient Deficiency

Symptoms

Yellowing leaves, stunted growth, pale new growth instead of pink coloration

Treatment

Increase fertilizer dosing with all-in-one liquid fertilizer or add root tabs; ensure adequate lighting for photosynthesis

Algae Overgrowth on Leaves

Symptoms

Green or brown algae coating leaf surfaces, reduced light penetration

Treatment

Increase water changes, reduce lighting duration, add algae-eating fish like Otocinclus, manually remove affected leaves

Root Rot

Symptoms

Mushy roots, decaying base, leaves wilting despite adequate water

Treatment

Improve substrate drainage, reduce organic waste buildup, ensure adequate water circulation; replant in fresh substrate if severe

Melting

Symptoms

Rapid leaf deterioration, transparent or dissolving leaves after planting

Treatment

Maintain stable water parameters, gradually acclimate plant to new conditions, ensure consistent temperature and lighting
