Very narrow, grass-like Java Fern variety. Creates a unique wispy texture when attached to hardscape. Extremely low maintenance.

Common Diseases

Algae Overgrowth

Symptoms

Excessive green, brown, or black algae coating fronds and reducing light penetration

Treatment

Reduce lighting duration to 6-8 hours daily, increase water changes, add algae-eating fish or shrimp, improve water circulation

Nutrient Deficiency

Symptoms

Yellowing fronds, stunted growth, pale coloration, or holes in leaves

Treatment

Add comprehensive liquid fertilizer containing macronutrients and micronutrients; ensure adequate fish waste or consider CO2 supplementation

Rhizome Rot

Symptoms

Blackening or mushy appearance at the plant's base where it attaches to hardscape

Treatment

Ensure proper attachment (not buried in substrate), improve water circulation, remove affected portions, maintain stable water parameters

Melting

Symptoms

Rapid deterioration and dissolution of fronds after introduction to new tank

Treatment

Maintain stable water parameters, avoid drastic temperature changes, ensure adequate lighting and nutrients, be patient as plant acclimates
