Compact Salvinia with hooded, cup-shaped leaves. Smaller than S. minima. Excellent for nano tanks. Fast-growing nutrient sponge.

Nutrient Deficiency

Symptoms

Yellowing leaves, stunted growth, pale coloration, leaf holes

Treatment

Add comprehensive liquid fertilizer containing macronutrients and micronutrients; perform regular water changes; ensure adequate lighting

Algae Overgrowth on Leaves

Symptoms

Green or brown algae coating leaf surfaces, reduced light penetration, plant decline

Treatment

Increase water circulation, reduce lighting duration, manually remove affected leaves, add algae-eating fish or shrimp like Amano Shrimp

Root Rot (in substrate-rooted varieties)

Symptoms

Decaying leaf bases, foul odor, plant deterioration

Treatment

Remove affected portions, improve water circulation, ensure substrate isn't compacted, perform partial water changes

Excessive Melting

Symptoms

Rapid leaf dissolution, plant disintegration after introduction

Treatment

Gradual acclimation to new water parameters, stable temperature maintenance (23-28°C), increased nutrient supplementation during adjustment period
