Common Diseases

Cryptocoryne Rot (Melt)

Symptoms

Rapid leaf deterioration, blackening stems, plant disintegration within days to weeks

Treatment

Remove affected leaves immediately, improve water circulation, perform 25-30% water changes, ensure stable parameters (pH 6.0-8.0, temperature 22-28°C), and avoid sudden environmental changes

Nutrient Deficiency

Symptoms

Yellowing or pale leaves, stunted growth, leaf holes, reduced leaf size

Treatment

Implement regular fertilization with all-in-one liquid fertilizers or root tabs; ensure adequate lighting (low-medium); test water parameters and adjust if needed

Algae Overgrowth

Symptoms

Green, brown, or black algae coating leaves and stems, reduced plant vigor

Treatment

Reduce light duration to 6-8 hours daily, increase water changes, add algae-eating fish or shrimp, manually remove visible algae, and maintain balanced nutrient levels

Bacterial Leaf Spot

Symptoms

Brown or black spots on leaves with yellow halos, progressive leaf damage

Treatment

Remove severely affected leaves, improve water quality through frequent partial water changes, ensure good water circulation, and avoid overcrowding
