Long, narrow, ribbon-like leaves that can reach 20+ inches. Creates a grass-like effect. Extremely tolerant of hard water. Very easy.

Cryptocoryne Rot

Symptoms

Melting or dissolving of leaves, blackened stems, foul odor from substrate

Treatment

Improve water quality, increase water changes, remove affected portions, ensure adequate substrate nutrients and water circulation

Nutrient Deficiency

Symptoms

Yellowing leaves, stunted growth, pale coloration, holes in older leaves

Treatment

Dose comprehensive liquid fertilizer or plant tabs bi-weekly; ensure adequate macro and micronutrients

Algae Overgrowth

Symptoms

Green or brown algae coating on leaves, reduced light penetration

Treatment

Reduce lighting duration to 8-10 hours daily, increase water changes, add algae-eating fish or shrimp, improve water circulation

Poor Establishment

Symptoms

Leaf melt immediately after planting, slow or no new growth

Treatment

Allow 2-4 week acclimation period; maintain stable water parameters; ensure substrate has nutrients; avoid moving plant frequently
