Ask Finn

Pangio myersi, commonly known as the Slimy Myersi Kuhli, is a small, eel-like loach native to Southeast Asia that inhabits slow-moving streams and swamps. Care Guide

Diet

Slimy Myersi Kuhli are omnivorous bottom feeders that prefer sinking foods. Offer a varied diet of high-quality sinking pellets, algae wafers, and occasional live or frozen foods such as bloodworms and daphnia. Feed small amounts once daily in the evening when they are most active.

Behavior

These loaches are primarily nocturnal and spend most of their time on the substrate searching for food and hiding in caves or dense vegetation. They are social fish that do best in small groups of 3 or more, where they exhibit schooling behavior. They are generally peaceful but may be shy and reclusive, especially during the day.

Breeding

Breeding in captivity is extremely difficult and rarely achieved in home aquariums. They require very specific water conditions and are believed to migrate to spawn in the wild. Most specimens available in the aquarium trade are wild-caught.
