Tank Mates
Compatible reef fish that won't harm corals and add activity to the tank
Small, peaceful fish that won't disturb Ricordea and help maintain tank cleanliness
Beneficial invertebrate that maintains water quality without harming corals
Algae-eating snail that helps maintain tank health without bothering corals
Compatible coral species with similar care requirements and peaceful coexistence
Common Diseases
Coral Bleaching
Loss of color, polyps appear pale or white, reduced feeding response
Improve lighting intensity and spectrum, check water parameters (temperature 23-28°C, salinity 1.023-1.025), increase water flow, and reduce stressors
Brown Jelly Disease
Brown mucus-like film covering polyps, rapid tissue recession, foul odor
Isolate affected coral, perform 50% water change, remove affected tissue with clean tools, treat with antibiotic dips if severe, improve water quality and flow
Polyp Recession
Polyps fail to extend, gradual shrinking of coral tissue, reduced responsiveness
Check water parameters, improve lighting (8-10 hours daily), increase feeding frequency, ensure adequate calcium and trace elements, reduce aggressive water flow
Pest Infestation (Nudibranchs/Flatworms)
Small organisms visible on coral, tissue damage, polyps not extending
Manual removal with tweezers, dip in freshwater or iodine solution, quarantine coral if possible, maintain strong water flow to deter pests
