Plantae›Tracheophyta›Magnoliopsida›Alismatales›Araceae
📍 West Africa

Tank Mates
Peaceful algae grazers that won't uproot or damage the plant
Excellent algae control and won't harm the plant structure
Small, gentle invertebrates that benefit from plant cover
Peaceful schooling fish that won't disturb the plant
Compatible companion plant with similar care requirements
Complements Anubias in low-light planted tanks
Common Diseases
Rhizome Rot
Soft, blackened rhizome; foul smell; leaf yellowing and melting
Remove affected plant, trim rotted portions with sterile tools, improve water circulation and reduce organic buildup
Algae Overgrowth
Green or brown algae coating leaves, reduced light penetration
Increase water changes, reduce lighting duration to 6-8 hours daily, add algae-eating fish like Otocinclus or shrimp
Nutrient Deficiency
Pale or yellowing leaves, stunted growth, transparent patches
Dose all-in-one fertilizer weekly; ensure adequate lighting and CO2 is not required but helps growth
Leaf Spot (Fungal)
Brown or black spots on leaves, tissue breakdown
Remove affected leaves, improve water quality, increase water circulation, avoid overcrowding
