Rhizome Rot

Symptoms

Soft, blackened rhizome; foul smell; leaf yellowing and melting

Treatment

Remove affected plant, trim rotted portions with sterile tools, improve water circulation and reduce organic buildup

Algae Overgrowth

Symptoms

Green or brown algae coating leaves, reduced light penetration

Treatment

Increase water changes, reduce lighting duration to 6-8 hours daily, add algae-eating fish like Otocinclus or shrimp

Nutrient Deficiency

Symptoms

Pale or yellowing leaves, stunted growth, transparent patches

Treatment

Dose all-in-one fertilizer weekly; ensure adequate lighting and CO2 is not required but helps growth

Leaf Spot (Fungal)

Symptoms

Brown or black spots on leaves, tissue breakdown

Treatment

Remove affected leaves, improve water quality, increase water circulation, avoid overcrowding
